Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy

The craniosacral system is made up of the bones, membranes and fluid that surround and protect the brain and spinal cord; the bones of the skull and face, the cranium, down the spine to the sacrum and tailbone. This is the environment of the central nervous system, where sensory information is taken in and responded to. The nervous system governs all of our processes ~ our immunity and healing abilities, our senses of perception, digestion, breathing, our entirety.

In Biodynamic Craniosacral Therapy (BCST) the nervous system is the entry point into the vastness of who we are. This whole system is breathing – sometimes things happen to make it stop breathing, like trauma and shock. Inertia organizes shock. When I put my hands on someone I feel for where it’s breathing and where it isn’t breathing. I pause and wait for something to happen. In that waiting the breath comes in and transformation takes place. It is in this state of restoration that all levels of healing are possible. Healing happens now.

Working biodynamically means not applying any external force to the system. This means physical force or manipulation as well as mental or energetic force. There is no trying to fix someone and I’m not working with an agenda. I’m not doing anything to the system to make a change but I am doing a lot of things to support the innate capacity in each person – the breath of life – to make a change. I work with heartfelt awareness and a sense of curiosity. With moment to moment awareness I stay present with what arises.

I believe we all have an innate force of self healing within us and in meeting that potency with respect, wisdom and love something magical happens. I use my skills of perception to support that innate force of healing that is in each person. There is alchemy in this meeting, in this being seen and heard and felt, that allows for transformation.

In my life, BCST has been a very safe and gentle practice to explore deep parts of myself, many that I was not conscious of. Through my explorations I have been able to tap into my innate wisdom and change patterns that were no longer serving me. Self love has become more abundant and I have learned new ways of being in relationship with myself so that I could be in relationship with the people I love in a new way. I felt like the relationships I had were good before but I didn’t know the possibilities of the magic within those relationships. Now this magic is alive in me.

I invite you to tap into the health and well-being that is available to you, align yourself with the brilliance of your authenticity and clarify the communication between your intuition and your thinking mind. Find the inner truth that is alive in your cells, waiting to be discovered by you. This is true medicine for the very busy times we live in.
